The Complete Godzilla Bandai DX/Battery Operated Series

The Millenium Series Part 2

For the Toho film "Godzilla X MechaGodzilla", Bandai once again released battery operated figures that did not walk.

DX MechaGodzilla 2003

The DX MechaGodzilla 2003 is reminiscent of the past DX MechaGodzilla 93 that not only lights up and roars, but produces battle sounds as well. Buttons are used this time to produce the sounds. All weapon attachments can be removed. The DX MechaGodzilla 2003 can also open its chest to display its Zero Cannon weapon.

The box pictures the actual toy. The tail and weapon attachments need to be assembled.

In a surprising move by Bandai, No DX Godzilla was made to match up with the DX MechaGodzilla 2003.

Roaring Godzilla 2003

The Roaring Godzilla 2003 features several points of articulation and roars. The figure is in the six inch scale to reflect the popular Movie Monster Series. The figure comes in a window box and the tail needs to be assembled.

For the Toho film "Godzilla, Mothra, MechaGodzilla, Tokyo S.O.S.", Bandai would update the DX MechaGodzilla and include a DX Godzilla.

DX Godzilla 2004 & MechaGodzilla 2004

It was believed that the DX Godzilla 2004 would be able to roar much in the manner of the Battle Sound Godzilla 2000. In a surprising move, Bandai put no electronics in the DX Godzilla 2004 and made it much like a vinyl large scale figure. This is only the second time Bandai produced a DX figure that didn't require batteries. The box pictures the actual toy and the tail needs to be assembled.

The DX MechaGodzilla 2004 is updated as it appeared in the new film with new weapon attachments and spear hand. the figure has lights and sounds and when tilted back and forth, produces even more sounds. The DX MechaGodzilla 2004 can also open its chest to display lights and sounds just like last years figure.

Bandai released another battery operated figure in the six inch scale and would be the last remote control figure Bandai would produce.

RC Godzilla 2004

The RC Godzilla 2004 has a regular hand held controller that can have Godzilla walk forward, turn, and roar. A miniature building and maser tank is included. The figure comes in a window box and the tail needs to be assembled.

For the Toho film "Godzilla, Final Wars", Bandai would release its last battery operated Godzilla figure.

DX Attack Sound Godzilla 2005

The DX Attack Sound Godzilla 2005 lights up its mouth and spines, roars, and makes sounds when put in position. The box pictures the actual toy and the tail needs to be assembled.

Bandai released a DX/Battery Operated figure for every new Godzilla film Toho produced. With "Godzilla, Final Wars" reportedly being the last Godzilla film for some time, it is doubtful Bandai will release anymore battery operated figures. While the DX/Battery Operated Series is a hit/miss among collectors, no company will ever reach the output Bandai made for this series.
